The Third Sterling Battle of the Bands
was held on Saturday June 19, 2004
at The First Church
6 Meetinghouse Road, Sterling, MA

Four prizes were awarded based on the evaluation of the four judges. Each band received up to 30 minutes to perform.

Judging was done by a panel of four volunteer judges who evaluated the acts based on talent, showmanship and crowd reaction.

1st Prize - 8 hours of studio time at Sterling Sound & Image (valued at over $ 400)

2nd Prize - Gift certificate to Daddy's Junky Music plus cash ($ 100)

3rd Prize - Gift certificate to Guitar Center plus cash ($ 80)

4th Prize - Cash award ($ 60)

A volunteers committee was formed to perform the following duties: selling tix at door, working concession stand, cleanup, making posters, writing press releases, judging event.

The local band Down In Front has donated the use of sound reinforcement equipment
including speakers, monitors, microphones, poweramps and mixing boards.

The Sterling Children's Fund has provided a grant to assist with the expenses of this event.

The Sterling Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Commission.

All revenue received from this event after expenses, will be donated to the nonprofit organization
Sterling Music Exchange, in order to support live music performances
of young adults in the Sterling community in the future.

Sterling Sound and Image (www.sterlingsoundandimage.com) has volunteered to provide up to 8 hours of studio time to the winning band, a value of more than $ 400.

Daddy's Junky Music has donated a $ 50 gift certificate and The Guitar Center donated a $ 25 certificate.

Also First Night Worcester has offered 1 set gigs to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place bands.
